Kings Cove is a family owned and operated business located at the Toyota Sports Center – home to the LA Kings and LA Lakers. The McColgan family assumed operation of the existing restaurant in January 2013. They redesigned it, changed the name, put their family sports restaurant mark on it and reopened it on March 28, 2013 offering an improved and expanded menu.
Kings Cove boasts a walk up café and a beer and wine bar in a relaxed rustic dining area. The restaurant is centrally located between two ice rinks allowing parents to dine while watching their children play hockey and figure skate. The dining area has 16 large LCD televisions for guests to enjoy professional hockey, football and soccer games. During the NHL season, customers have the opportunity to watch the LA Kings practice.
The McColgans have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and currently have other restaurants in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Torrance. They are avid hockey fans with three boys who grew up playing youth hockey at the Toyota Sports Center. (Their sons still play today at various levels.) In keeping with the family’s sports-minded lifestyle, the McColgan girls have excelled in youth soccer.
